The Little Mermaid

Girls Night
My mom and I took Lola to her first play. Growing up, my mom and Gram used to take my sister and I to a play usually once a year. We would all get dressed up, go out to dinner, and see the show together, just us girls. I've been looking forward to taking her to do this for awhile, thinking she would just love to see a show. When I saw that the Christian Youth Theatre was putting on The Little Mermaid, Nana and I thought it would be perfect!
The three of us have so much fun together. As we were eating dinner, I couldn't help but think how much Gram would have loved being a part of this night.

Lola absolutely loved the play. After every act, when the lights went down, she would ask, "Is there more?" By the end of the play, the lights would go down and she would say, "Here they come! I wonder what they're going to do next!" She talked about the play on the car ride home, told Dan about it, and then asked me to sing her a Little Mermaid song as she fell asleep. I would say it was a hit!

Nine Months

Nine months- Mac is weighing in at just above 19 pounds now, and it sitting on his own, army crawling on his tummy and very close to really cruising around. He has just started reaching up to hold onto things, trying to pull his bottom up off the ground a bit.but is usually easily distracted by anyone watching him and stops to smile and talk to.

He likes to repeat sounds that he hears. I'll say, "mamama" and he smiles and repeats it back to me, in his raspy voice and so proud. Mac has learned to wave and does it often. He also just loves to eat. Oftentimes, he'll take a bit and very enthusiastically say, "MMMMM!" It is so cute!

My favorite thing that Mac is doing right now is laughing at his sister. In the car, their car seats face opposite directions, giving them a good view of each other. Lola has been making Mac laugh by sawing a funny word, then she laughs for a bit with him, they calm down and then she starts it all over again. I could drive around for hours just listening to them giggle with each other. It's so great.

Around the House

I found my old digital camera, put batteries in it and taught Lola how to take photos. She's been posing her dolls, fairies, and stuffed animals and really enjoying taking pictures of everything.
 Reading buddies.
I love this picture - seeing their eyelashes and matching noses :)
Soccer Tots with our pals, Pat and Banks. Lola is just loving this class. We can't wait for warmer weather to play soccer in the park again!
Bub brought Lola a kazoo the other day and taught her how to play it. They entertained everyone with Twinkle, Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and ABCs.
Experimenting with water, droppers, and blue & red dye.

Friday Fun

Started the morning out with a bath. He has so much fun splashing and practices his waving - a new trick - in the bath and on the changing table.
It was such a sunny afternoon that we deiced to head to the park after naps for some much needed fresh air. Mac tried out the swing for the first time and loved it. Lola is so excited to have Mac enjoying the things that she loves too. Nana met up with us for a bit before we headed to her house for some play time by the fire.
 Swinging buddies

Mac loves to make music and play with instruments.
 Getting back into her guitar.
Bub grabbed his guitar and Lola picked out songs for them to play and sing together.
Mac was very entertained and joined in with the drums and tambourine.
We ended our music session by the fire with a song Lola made up, "It's my life" to which Bub added lyrics to. They are so entertaining! When I was younger, I remember my dad playing his guitar as I sang "Puff the Magic Dragon" and the Steve Miller Band's "Dance, Dance, Dance." I love seeing Lola sing now.

Valentine's Day

So proud of her new SoccerTots shirt.
Lola loved her new hair accessories and was very excited about the pink jellybeans.
Mac liked his new book, but really preferred the bag :)
He began by sitting up with all of the Cheerios in the bowl. In just a few minutes, he was swimming in them.
Nana and Bub came over for Valentine's dinner (heart pizza from Papa Murphy's) and Gonzaga basketball. It was a win for GU at St. Mary's. They brought Mac some new Cheerios.
Lola loved her balloon and got a magnetic chore chart which she is excited to use!

Lookin' Good Kiddos

TWO teeth! Mac finally got his second bottom tooth! It's not very visible in this picture, but it just came through and he is so much happier!
 My baker. Zucchini-Banana muffins today.
Mr. Yoga. This kid loves his toes and grabs onto them while in his high chair all the time.
This girl loves her daddio. So much.

Faces

This is who I eat lunch with every day. My happy, amazing, blue-eyed kiddos.

Playtime

"Play is the work of a child." That Maria was a smart lady. I absolutely love seeing my kids playing. Even better, playing together. What amazing little people they are.
Lola, cuddled up in her robe after a shower and enjoying some mint tea.
 Bubsy's Mini-Me.
I love this expression. He tries to be serious but can't help but be happy.
 Lola has the wink down.
Seriously. Love. This. Kid.
He loves food so much. He quickly put a cracker in his mouth, grabbed one in each hand, and then was stuck.
 Running around at Soccer Tots.
I got to fill-in for Dan the last few weeks at soccer. Lola has SO much fun and does a great job listening to her coach.

 Lola's biggest fans.
Playtime with Auntie Rach! So exciting!
 Baby Mohawk!
Dan gave him a mohawk and I think he may be too sweet to sport this look :)
 Having fun with his daddy.
Lola spent the night at Nana's and decided to sleep in her sleeping bag. Before she went to bed, she put every doll to sleep in her bag first.
 Twinsies!
If a child had ever smothered Lola when she was this age, I would have definitely freaked out. It's amazing what the second child experiences because of their older sibling. Lola can't help but adore him. And Mac loves it. Smashed nose and all.

 The pizza maker.
Lola's baby dolls are so loved. She's singing our songs from music with Maggie.

She's such a little mommy. It's amazing.
