Valentine's Day

I've never been a big Valentine's Day person, but there was something about Lola having her first Valentine exchange party that made me SO excited! We talked about what kind of Valentine's "treat" to give out and Lola decided on glow sticks. I printed them out, she helped me cut them, wrote her name on 30 Valentine's, and put the glow sticks in them. She was totally into it and didn't want to take a break until they were all done.

Ready for her Valentine's party at school. She picked the outfit...including the heart boots.
Lola and her sweet friend, Vivianne.
Mac got to put a band-aid on Jesus' hand at St. Als and was very proud of himself. I am happy he and the school principal are making friends. He's charming her already! Ha!
Valentine's Day goodies. Lola got Princesses on the Run and Mac got If You Give a Pig a Pancake, two of their favorites that we often check out at the library.
A weaving loom for Lola and a vehicle stamp set for Mac. A crafting Valentine's Day!

Sprinkle pancakes for breakfast.
The best calzones on earth at Pete's for lunch. Such a treat! Love bringing them back to our college stomping grounds.
Nana's famous sugar cookies are a MUST for Valentine's Day (any holiday really!)

Some of my Favorite Spots

My double ovens arrived and I couldn't be more excited about the way this whole wall in my kitchen turned out. Lola came around the corner to see them and excited yelled out, "Mom! We can make four sheets of cookies at the same time!"
Love my sink. Love the faucet. Love the view.
My splurge. Master bathroom clawfoot tub. If you had ever looked inside my one and only shower/tub in our old house (which was about four feet long) you will agree with me that this is well deserved.
I love the goosenecks. So many small finishing touches are really making it feel like our own house!

Sick Buddies

We have had influenza and the stomach flu sweep through everyone in the house in the last three weeks. It's been exhausting, to say the least. With all of the inside time, missing out on school, music, and gymnastics, I kept waiting for Mac and Lola to drive each other crazy. Much to my surprise, it actually drew them even closer. They have been such sweet buddies with each other. They are really into Peter Pan right now and I can't tell you how many times we've watched that movie together since they've been sick, but they get so excited about it. They even pretend to be Wendy and Peter. Lola tries to use an English accent like Wendy and I can't stand how cute it is! One day, they woke up from their naps and I found them on my bed, Lola reading to Mac. I had to sneak a picture before I left them to have their story time. I love them.

Mac Moments

Just a few random moments throughout the past week. I love when I actually catch him with a camera. He is so quick, loves being around people and enjoys making them laugh. He really has an incredible energy about him, always looking for fun and adventure. A true boy.
My little water bug. Pretending the bubbles are a pillow and loving the sound and feel of them popping on his face.

Listening to my workout music on the stairs...
...and rocking out to Bruno Mars. He loves that they play this song before the Zags games and the students all dance to it.

Exploring with his new hockey sticks from Uncle Andrew. Ever since Andrew talked to Mac about hockey, he puts socks on and pretends to skate around the house. He went right out into the rain and played tried it out.
As soon as he would hit the ball in the net, he threw the stick and would run "the bases". He was loving it. Apparently, the more sports the better for this kid.
Love his energy. (Want some of his energy!)
Cuddle time in the stroller with his little buddy. Meeko has finally often used to Mac's wild energy and (for the most part) isn't afraid when Mac tries to snuggle him. They rode the whole way home like this!
