January Progress at Peone

Every time I walk into our house, it's like opening a present. There is always something new and it is SO exciting! I love watching my kitchen come together the most! Here's a few updates from January:
 Kitchen cabinets are in!

One of my favorite places - Mac's room with these two walls of windows. I imagine him gazing out of these windows for years and seeing so many animals and sunsets outside.
FLOORS! I was so excited when I cracked the front door open one weekend to see our beautiful floors peeking at me. They really warmed up the house!
 Loving our doors and trim!
Lola's massive closets! I am thinking one will be for clothes, and the other some sort of play area with space for her doll beds and maybe kitchen! As much as she and Mac love playing together, I know how much she enjoys her alone time and will really enjoy having her own space.
Countertops! It was so fun to stand at the cooktop on the island and see the kids on the other side. I am so looking forward to spending a lot of time in this kitchen, and love how connected we are all going to be with so many areas the kids and Dan can sit, play, and chat close by.

The kids were really excited about the stair railing!
First phase of exterior paint. Can't wait to start moving in to our white farm house at Peone!

Dan's 31st

The kids and I made breakfast cupcakes to celebrate Dan's birthday. Since we were going out for an early dinner and heading to the Gonzaga game that evening, we sang and opened presents in the morning. The kids and I had gone to the Zags store and they picked out a few new items for him to wear at work and at home. As Nicholas family birthday traditions go, the celebration lasted a few days after the birthday as well with more dinners and birthday treats. I have a feeling this next year will bring many fun adventures and wonderful memories for this amazing guy :)

Snow Buddies

Outdoor play time is definitely shorter than it is when the weather is warmer, and it takes some coaxing to get Lola out there some days, but I really love seeing them enjoy the snow and each other. They have enjoyed pulling their dolls and stuffed animals on the sleds, making snow angels, throwing snow at each other, and shoveling the snow with their mini shovels. They are such sweet buddies.

EllensburgChristmas

A few days after Christmas, we made our way to Ellensburg to have a Christmas celebration with the Wadkins clan. The kids always have a great time having outdoor adventures with Grandpa Jack, Grandma Linda & Uncle Andrew.

The kids received bento lunch boxes from Grandma Linda. They love them and used them for snacks right away. We will use these often for lunches at the park and downtown after visiting the children's museum. They love the butterfly and dinosaur prints.
Enjoying a book with Grandma Linda.
The kids gave Uncle Andrew a whip cream maker, and are looking forward to trying his creations.
 Tractors from Grandpa Jack.
Enjoying the sunshine. We played frisbee and explored, then headed out to the Beach Cabin for a fire and snacks.

 Heading out for an adventure.

I caught them like this and had to take a quick picture of my sweeties. Melts my heart.
Uncle Andrew spent some time showing Mac his hockey books and teaching him a little about the sport. Mac is very interested and wants watch a game soon.
The last morning we were in Ellensburg, we woke up to a yard full of deer. When the kids saw them, Mac said, "Wow, I knew we were going to Ellensburg but I didn't know that Santa's reindeer would be in Ellensburg too!"
We made a stop in Wenatchee to have lunch with Beca & Teal, and then visited Grandma Marylou. The kids always love seeing her and playing with her dolls & toys. Until next time...

The Next Day

The day after Christmas, we headed up to Peone to check out the house. The walls have been painted, most of the lights are in, and it is getting so exciting! Next week floors start going in and then kitchen cabinets (EEEK! SO excited for my kitchen!)
 The great room
 Kitchen!
Lola and I are SO excited about her lavender bedroom and chandelier. My sweet girly girl.
Mac Attack gets the corner room with extra windows to watch for deer, turkeys, rabbits, elk, and more creatures to be discovered.
 The master bedroom
Tiling in the master shower! So exciting!

 Loving our outdoor lanterns
