Catching up on the blog with some fall fun!
The weekend before Halloween, we picked up the Jack-o-Lantern pizza from Papa Murphy's and had Nana & Bub over to carve pumpkins!
Lola designed her jack-o-lantern, and we carved it together.
Triangles for eyes, a circle nose, and she made a request for a mouth with teeth :)
Nana took an idea from Pinterest and drilled holes in her pumpkin, then carved our Greenbluff pumpkins with an "L" for Lola and an "M" for Mac!
Later that weekend, we headed over to Nana's to make hoot owl cookies. This has been a tradition in our house for many years! Gram bought a stove that came with a cookbook with this cookie recipe and she used to make them to hand out to trick-or-treaters. Rachael and I used to make them with her, and this year, Lola got to make them with Nana. She loves to help in the kitchen, no matter what we are making, but especially when it's dessert!
Playing with the busy box with Mac while the cookies were baking.
Voila!
A few nights later... my kids turned into a butterfly and a dragon!
Lola went trick-or-treating to a few houses, but was mostly excited to be a butterfly and see other kids in their costumes. A friend of hers, Bryndel, told her of the "Candy Witch" who lets you eat a few pieces of candy, then steals the rest when you're not looking and leaves a present instead.
Lo and behold... the Candy With made a stop by our house, took Lola's candy and left a bug-catching puzzle :) Happy Halloween!
