Oh Christmas Tree

Two days after Thanksgiving, we headed out again this year to Hutton Settlement, a home for children, to get our Christmas tree. The kids who live there help plant and take care of the trees throughout the year and then help out on the weekends when they're selling the trees. It's a great place. We headed out to find the perfect tree. Every tree Dan and I asked about, Lola excitedly said "yes, yes, yes!" to and after ten minutes had gone by, Mac was asking, "how about this tree?" to every tree, branch, or stick we saw.

Found our tree! Watching Dan cut it down.

Lola is SO excited to have finally found the one! Off to home we go for decorating and hot cocoa.
Helping his dad with the lights.
Lola is a great tree decorator. She wanted to know about every ornament.
A little frustrated that we couldn't take all of the ornaments off of the tree, in particular a red plane. I told him that he just needed to look at it and say, "Looking really good there, plane!" Word for word, he repeated me, and every day, he goes up to an ornament or two and tells them that they're looking really good on the tree. He has only pulled two off the tree since. Success.

One of her favorite ornaments. The sparkly, pink butterfly we got last year.
Looking good there, tree.
