Last days

After Lola's birthday, we made a big push to get moved into our new house. We had planned on staying at Nana & Bub's for six months while our house was being built. That time ended up doubling, and a year later, we were finally moving out! When I told a friend of mine that we were moving in with them, she said, "What a wonderful opportunity for your children to be surrounded by additional adults that love your children and give them a sense of security." So many people seemed to think we were crazy, but it has truly been a great experience and my kids have grown so close to their Nana & Bub. I love seeing the special relationships they have with them. They really do love both of them, but there is a very special bond between Lola and my mom that reminds me so much of my relationship with Grammy, and I'm pretty sure Mac is Bub's mini-me. They are such buds and Mac just loves following him around and helping him with any project. I've always had a hard time with change, and being pregnant just seemed to add to the emotional process of moving out of our basement haven, but now that we are settled in our new home (which I LOVE so much) it is great to go back to having special dinners, visits, and sleepovers with Nana & Bub. It was a year that I think they will both remember as a fun time in their life!
