Weekend Warriors

Dan and I are among the few Gonzaga grads who stayed in Spokane after graduation, while almost all of our friends moved away to the West side, among other big cities. So when our friends visit our "small town" we feel extremely excited and lucky to have them come back to enjoy little Spokane with us.

Meghan and David came back for their second, now annual, Christmas weekend. We had such a wonderful morning in downtown Spokane. Starting off with breakfast burritos at Atilano's, grabbing some coffee, and riding the gondola through Riverfront Park and over the falls, then off to ride the Loof Carousel.

My new discovery...I order a mocha and ask for the whip cream "on the side" (aka- free treat for Lola) Today, the barista put chocolate sprinkles on top. You would have thought I ordered Lola a hot fudge sundae!
 A modern family :)
Gondola Girls!
Rainbow over the falls. Sun in December...in Spokane? Beautiful!

During nap time, Meghan and I hit up the Zag Shop and then got ready to enjoy the Zags take on Illinois...David's first time in the Kennel! We scored tickets to the game, which in this town, is like winning the lottery, and to top it off, ended up getting hooked up with tickets to the Herak Club, to enjoy drinks and appetizers before the game and during halftime.
Me and Meghan enjoying the Herak Club.
The Kennel.
Oh, how I long for the days of college. I love this place.
What better way to end a Zags game night with beer and burgers at Jack & Dan's.
Sunday morning breakfast with my kiddos in their high chairs together. THANK YOU Grandma Linda for Mac's red chair! It is so wonderful seeing these kids sit at the table together, eating, smiling, and laughing.
It makes Mac look SO big!
A little wrapping paper decorating with potato painting.
Snow. Not enough to build a snowman, so we drew one instead!
A great weekend with wonderful friends.
