A little last minute with the egg dying, but got it done in time for Easter morning, nonetheless! This year, I also stayed up late to make Italian Easter bread- something I had when I spent Easter with my friend Jordan Bongiovani. Her Aunt Rose had made the traditional sweet braided bread and honestly, I have been dreaming about it every Easter since then. I found a recipe on Pinterest for individual servings that I was so excited to make. They were delicious...and went well with the coffee I needed for missing out on a few hours of sleep!
The Easter Bunny left goodies in the kids baskets...a few faves included a Minnie Mouse watch and Roger & Hammerstein's Cinderella for Lola, and a Buzz Lightyear doll and Sword in the Stone movie for Mac. It was a rainy morning, so we watched Sword in the Stone together before getting dressed up and heading to mass.
Later, the sun came out at Bub & Nana's, in perfect time for the Easter Bunny to hide eggs in the backyard. This year, a few lucky eggs had coins in them for the kids piggybanks :) It was a Happy Easter, and a great day spent together.
